AWMA OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR YOUTH CLIMATE ACTION FUND

Agona West, — July 17, 2026: The Agona West Municipal Assembly has announced the opening of applications for the Youth Climate Action Fund, an initiative powered by Bloomberg Philanthropies and designed to support young people taking practical action to address climate change.
The six-month programme is targeted at young residents of Agona West Municipality between the ages of 15 and 24. Successful projects will receive funding ranging from US$1,000 to US$5,000 per project.
According to the announcement, proposed projects should align with the Agona West Municipal Climate Action Plan and fall under one or more of four key themes:
Climate awareness, education and research
Sustainable agriculture
Sustainable waste management, recycling, risk preparedness and reduction
Natural resource management and conservation
Applicants are required to submit a detailed project description using the prescribed project form, together with a budget explaining how the funds will be used.
Eligible applicants must have formal incorporation or status and a bank account in the project’s name. Youth-led groups that are not incorporated may partner with an incorporated entity that can serve as a microgrant recipient and fund administrator.
