GHANA EDUCATION SERVICES
The Ghana Education Service (GES) was established in 1974 to oversee pre-tertiary education. The GES operates through a decentralized structure, with 260 districts and 40 municipal directorates, ensuring education delivery across the country. The GES is responsible for implementing national education policies, managing schools, and promoting quality education. The current Director –General is Professor Ernest Kofi Davis.
The key mandate of the Education Directorate is to be in charge of the Management and Supervision of all Pre-tertiary (Basic, SHS, Vocational, and Technical) schools both private and public within the Municipality. The Agona West Municipal Education Office is located at Roman Ridge near the Roman Ridge Basic M/A School and the James Camp Prisons.

All-inclusive , equitable and quality education for children in the Agona West Municipality. Schools under the Education Directorate are categorized into two Circuits.
