AGONA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY LAUNCHES DISTRICT ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (DRIP)

18TH SEPTEMBER 2024

The Agona West Municipal Assembly on Friday, 18TH September, officially launched the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Equipment. This initiative by the Government of Ghana is aimed at empowering Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary tools and resources to improve road networks across the country and not to solely depend on the central government in the expansion of roads within the MMDs.

The launch event was attended by key stakeholders, including Heads of Departments, traditional leaders, clergy, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, and Hon. Assembly Members.

Speaking at the launch, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Evans Addison Coleman emphasized the importance of good road networks in facilitating trade, access to education, healthcare, and other essential services. He again mentioned the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that even the most remote areas within the Municipality would be accessible through the District Road Improvement Programme.

With the District Road Improvement Programme set to commence immediately, several key roads in the Municipality have already been identified for rehabilitation as soon as possible.
