The Ministry of Food and Agriculture as part of the strategy for the operationalizing of the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase Two (PFG2) programme in the Agona West Municipality on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 commenced the distribution of input grants to farmers in the area.

Citi Fm/Citi TV in collaboration with the Agona West Municipal Assembly has held a community forum in Agona Swedru at the Swedru Lorry Station. Present at the event were market women from both the main market and the mandela market, commercial drivers from all the lorry stations withing the Agona West Municipality, business men and women, Hawkers, Assembly Members and staff from the Municipal Assembly.

Work is progressing studily on phase 1 of the 60-unit lockable stores at the Mandela Market. The project which is being undertaken by the Agona West Municipal Assembly with support of the World Bank's Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme is moving at a very fast pace.
A vist to the site shows thst that contractors are busy with work and have assured the Assembly that they will work within time to complete the project as planned.

As part of efforts to boost local economic activities within the trade and commerce area in the Agona West Municipality, the Agona West Municipal Assembly has used part of its District Performance Assessment tool (DPAT) funds to construct a 48-unit market stalls at the Mandela Market in Agona Swedru.
